Maintains and updates the HAACP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) Program for Bridgeview, Oak Lawn and Bedford Park facilities and all relative food safety issues at all facilities by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervises employees in the Food Safety Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; At least two years related experience with a focus on food service manufacturing or meat science.
Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Mathematical Skills Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability Must regularly demonstrate ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Word Processing and Spreadsheet software; Internet software; and Microsoft Outlook.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: HACCP Certification required.
Other Skills and Abilities Must have excellent communication skills and customer service skills. Bilingual Spanish or Polish is a plus. Must be able to work well with others and teach and explain as it relates to food safety. Clear understanding of and experience with U.S.D.A. regulations.
