Overview

At Seismic, we ignite growth – for global organizations, for our customers, and for our teams! The Corporate Data & Analytics (CDA) team is responsible for transforming data into actionable, goal-driven reporting that fan the flames of innovation and adaptation for our cross-organizational stakeholders. To keep up with the pace of our growing company, we are looking for an outstanding Analytics Engineer I to join our team. Our Analytics Engineers perform the critical task of closely partnering with our Data Engineers and Data Analysts, becoming subject matter experts on the varied data models and lines of business. This allows the CDA team to provide tailored reporting solutions at scale, that are accurate and in context with their stakeholder audiences. As a CDA Analytics Engineer you can expect to create and automate rich, complex data sets that allow Analysts and BI consumers to work faster, safer, and better.

What You'll Do

  1. Own much of the ETL process in Snowflake and dbt to model complex datasets to be used in enterprise-wide Tableau reporting, often using new data sources
  2. Collaborate closely with Data Engineering, Data Analysts, Global Operations, Go-To-Market, and Finance teams to evaluate stakeholder requirements for upcoming projects and assist with project scope from a technical perspective
  3. Apply software engineering best practices to analytics code such as version control, testing, continuous integration
  4. Document processes, architecture of systems/data flows, project plans, using the agile methodology in Jira and Confluence
  5. Advise leaders, analysts, and developers with the intention of furthering data quality, standards, best practices and uses
  6. Implement tests and alerts that ensure the data pipeline flows smoothly and prevents any bad data from getting to production reporting

What you Bring

  1. Deeply curious; interested in how our business (and our product) works
  2. Possess excellent SQL skills with the ability to learn additional analytic tools
  3. Experienced working with data from enterprise SaaS companies such as Sales, ARR, and product usage
  4. Forecasting, Pipeline planning, and general GTM business process in the domains of Sales, Services, and Renewals is a bonus
  5. You are a natural communicator. You focus just as much on how you deliver your findings, as you do on the technical craft of uncovering new insights.
  6. General data enthusiast who enjoys understanding the data lifecycle from ingest, through transformation, and into visualization
  7. Agile sprint planner and executor with the ability to properly scope project requirements and reprioritize as needed
  8. Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field, such as Computer Science/Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or other related technical discipline
  9. 2+ years of hands-on experience with database development, modeling and governance within a RDBMS environment required.
  10. Proficiency in dbt and Snowflake required
  11. Proficient with the data structures and objects of typical CRM platforms
  12. Salesforce experience preferred
  13. Experience with Gainsight, Financial Force PSA, or Marketo is a plus
  14. Ability to effectively QA and troubleshoot data
  15. Excellent attention to detail
