Now expanding its engineering team, the company is looking for experienced developers who are eager to build high-impact systems and tackle complex technical challenges at scale.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design and implement distributed systems and backend services with a focus on scalability, performance, and fault tolerance
2. Provide architectural guidance and technical mentorship across the engineering team
3. Own major components of the codebase, driving design decisions and long-term technical direction
4. Write production-grade, testable code in a clean, modular fashion with attention to performance bottlenecks and memory efficiency
5. Perform deep code reviews and guide peers on design patterns, data modeling, and system architecture
6. Debug complex production issues across services and infrastructure, applying instrumentation and observability best practices
7. Continuously evaluate and integrate new tools, frameworks, and technologies into the stack when appropriate
8. Participate in technical planning, requirements gathering, and cross-functional collaboration with Product and DevOps teams

Qualifications:

1. 4+ years of backend development experience, including designing and scaling distributed systems in production
2. 1+ years in a technical lead, module owner, or staff engineer capacity: leading/managing at least 2 other engineers.
3. Currently working in a scale-up environment - experience working at a CDP a bonus.
4. Strong proficiency in Java, and familiarity with polyglot environments
5. Deep experience with data storage technologies - SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL), NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra), and analytical DBs (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift)
6. Solid grasp of event-driven architecture and experience with messaging systems like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or SQS
7. Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker)
8. Strong understanding of system design fundamentals, distributed computing concepts, and performance optimization
9. Proficient in CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and observability tooling (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog)
10. Excellent problem-solving ability and a bias toward shipping clean, maintainable code
