Job Description:

Working with VP of Engineering, will be responsible for developing the manufacturing and machining strategies that support the efficient production of our Mil-Spec Wire Rope Fittings, Loos Precision Products, Sheaves, Swaging/Cutting Tools, and Seismic Bracing products. Working with Operations, using CAD/CAM systems for Swiss and conventional multi-axis CNC machines, develop manufacturing processes and CNC programs that optimize current machining capabilities.

2. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Evaluate manufacturing processes and develop machining strategies.

2. Troubleshoot/optimize existing CNC programs and generate CNC programs for new products to be produced with Swiss and Conventional Multi-Axis CNC machines.

3. Design/develop/test/document new swaging tools and wire rope fittings.

4. Provide technical support to the sheave and seismic bracing product lines.

5. Identify opportunities and implement changes to improve products and reduce material/machining/assemby costs.

6. Provide technical customer service.

7. Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

8. Support Continuous Improvement projects.

3. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

As assigned by the Vice President of Engineering.

4. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

1. Advanced computer skills.

2. CAM experience for CNC machinery preferred.

3. Ability to interact with all levels of personnel and to work effectively in a diverse workforce.

4. Ability to effectively communicate engineering requirements.

5. Strong verbal and written communication skills.

6. Accuracy, thoroughness and timeliness.

5. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

1. BS Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

2. Experience/knowledge of metal working.

3. CAD/CAM training, preferably with SolidWorks/SolidCam.

4. Ability to take initiative on a wide range of project activities and situations. Ability to self-educate to provide engineering judgments.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
