The position of Project Specialist assists with implementation of one or more of the projects within Childhood Services that support quality improvement for licensed child care and early learning facilities. This position reports directly to the Project Coordinator and is governed by institution policy. This position is funded by an external source and the appointment shall not continue beyond the date funding ceases.
The Project Specialist may be located anywhere in the state of Arkansas; the position will require travel to sites throughout the state.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of a wide variety of instructional strategies, from basic to advanced
Knowledge of best practices in early childhood education
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work efficiently in a team environment
Advanced verbal and written communication skills
The ability to develop, plan, and implement short and long-term goals
Skills in organizing, prioritizing, and implementing projects
Skills in Microsoft Office, with emphasis on Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with
Internet-based applications is also necessary.

This is a full-time position.
8 hours daily
Monday - Friday

Desired Qualifications:
Training and experience in mentoring/coaching
Knowledge of and experience with a variety of early childhood program types
Knowledge of Explorers Curriculum, Project Approach, and/or or other inquiry-guided curricula
Knowledge of Powerful Interactions
Knowledge of Arkansas Minimum Licensing Requirements, Arkansas Child Development and Early Learning Standards, and Arkansas Workforce Knowledge and Competencies for Early Care and Education Professionals
Three years or more of experience working in an early childhood program serving children ages birth to five years
Experience as a trainer and coach for early childhood program staff
Verified trainer in the Arkansas Professional Development Registry (PDR)
Minimum Qualifications:
Formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree in early childhood/elementary education, child development, or related field.
