Job Duties to include but not limited to:
- All Nuclear Medicine procedures are provided and performed in accordance with the requirements of the South Carolina Department of Health and Enviromental Control (SCDHEC).
- All individuals will properly prepare, administer, and measure radioactive isotopes in therapeutic and diagnostic radiotracer studies utilizing a variety of equipment.
- Explains procedures to patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
- Moves equipment into specified position and adjusts equipment controls to set exposure factors such as time and distance.
- Maintain and calibrate radioisotope and laboratory equipment in accordance with required calibration schedule
- All Radioactive materials received will be wiped, surveyed, logged, and properly disposed of in accordance with DHEC standard
- Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient and staff.
- Responsible for quality control and reports for Diagnostic Imaging Department.
- Maintains radiation monitors and proper registration of radiology equipment.
- Complies with local, state and federal regulations pertaining to radiology.
- Performs routine maintenance and troubleshooting of all equipment.
- Orders and stocks all radiology supplies.
- Orients new employees to radiology.
- Continues education as required by professional registry.
- Communicates timely and effectively with Diagnostic Imaging Coordinator.
Qualifications:
Qualified candidates must have a minimum of 2 years experience in PET/CT and minimum of 2 years performing diagnostic CT. Candidate should possess exceptional phlebotomy/IV skills and have the ability to relate to patients, physicians and families. Impeccable customer service skills are a must!
Candidate to be certified in one of the following manners:
Hold SCRQSA certification in CT and Nuclear Medicine
Hold SCRQSA certification in Nuclear Medicine and CT
Hold SCRQSA certification in CT and PET
In addition to the SCRQSA certifications the candidate must hold corresponding certificates with AART and if applicable the NMTCB.
