Lighting Tech for National Dance Competition Tour

StarQuest Dance Competition is heading into our 31st Season and looking to grow our team with an on-the-road Lighting Tech. We produce Broadway-caliber events that aim to consistently remove the stressful obstacles to a great performance, enabling everyone to thrive in a professionally run, family atmosphere, while always smoothly running on time. We tour 70+ cities each year and deliver a truly unique experience to performers of all ages. Collectively, we are a team of creative leaders, each with different skills and personalities, who work non-stop together to deliver the best experience possible to anyone we encounter. We are looking for a self-motivated individual to come on as a contracted Lighting Technician.

What positions are we looking for?

· Lighting Technician: This position is for a person who has a love for touring, maintaining a high-quality show and building stunning lighting looks in various venues. This position will travel weekly to assist with loading in our lighting package, cleaning lighting looks in the venue, and loading out the package. This position will be on call during the weekend should technical lighting or power issues arise.

What QUALITIES do our Lighting Techs possess?

• Previous experience in board operation
• Previous experience leading a crew to load in a large-scale production
• Self-starting attitude and high level of self-management skills
• Self-awareness and high emotional intelligence
• Easily adaptable to any situation (loves to embrace change)
• Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Impeccable logistical and problem-solving skills
• Mastery of time management & multitasking
• Knowledge of the dance competition industry, prior touring experience, and/or prior live event experience are a plus

Interview Dates:

We will be hiring during December for the 2024 season through virtual interviews. These will be scheduled on an individual basis.

Tour Dates:

• Training Dates:
• January 23-29, 2024
• January 30-Feburary 5, 2024
• Tour Dates:
• February 6th – May 27th 2024 (Excluding March 28th – April 1st)

**Most weeks you will travel to the event on Wednesday and return home on Monday

Additional Details:

-Positions have no union jurisdiction

-Competitive pay

-Travel, food/per diem, and double occupancy lodging provided on the road
