Job Title: Instructional Designer and Facilitator
Duration: 4-6 months contract to hire

Client owns and operates composting facilities, transfer stations, materials recovery facilities, and landfills to meet the needs of surrounding municipalities.
- These services include: residential and commercial recycling, materials recovery, construction and demolition debris recycling, large-scale composting of food and other organic waste, compost sales, waste collection, transfer and landfill operations, and green planning services.

Location:
All roles are Hybrid 2-3 days/week in the Sacramento Data Center - Luzon Ave, CA, 95828 or their San Francisco or Santa Rosa office. Candidates can live in Sacramento, SF, or Santa Rosa and will be assigned to one of those offices.
Travel:
Able to travel occasionally to various sites within our footprint, primarily the Sacramento area, SF, south SF, and Santa Rosa, as well as Portland/Seattle areas 1-2 times a year. Candidates will be reimbursed for travel expenses.
Overview:
- Under limited direction, responsible for both the creation of engaging learning materials and the delivery of training sessions.
- This role involves instructional design and development, training delivery and facilitation and evaluation of program effectiveness in learner retention and enhancing employee-owner skills, performance, and productivity.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with subject matter experts and business process owners to identify training needs and develop effective learning solutions for key performance indicators.
- Designs and develops engaging and interactive learning materials, including eLearning courses, role-based certifications, instructor-led training manuals, and multimedia visual aids.
- Utilizes various instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) and methods to create engaging course content, activities, and materials that result in effective learning solutions.
- Reviews and updates existing training materials to ensure they are current, accurate, and effective.
- Facilitates engaging training sessions using various delivery methods (e.g., in-person, virtual, on-demand) to meet diverse learning styles and needs.
- Conducts training needs assessments to tailor training programs for individual roles and departments.
- Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of training programs, utilizing feedback to make continuous improvements.
- Collaborates with departments to drive the proper application of technology platforms and learning management systems to deploy, manage, and track technology, leadership and job-related training.
- Delivers training to multiple levels of employees throughout the company.
- Leads working groups to align goals with the strategic plan.
- Leverages internal and external resources as appropriate to integrate technology learning efforts with other efforts that support business.
- Manages administrator functions within the Learning Management System
- Administers learning schedules and calendars and maintains participant records during training.
- Organizes multiple concurrent tasks and communicates effectively with the team and other employee-owners.

Must Have Skills:
- 4 or more years of combined experience in instructional design and training delivery, with a proven track record of success in designing and developing effective learning solutions.
- Proficient with instructional design software (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) and LMS platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to design creative and effective training materials and curricula.
- Strong facilitation skills with the ability to engage and educate adult learners.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Experience working with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and familiarity with project management tools and techniques.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Exhibits excellent follow-through to ensure deadlines are met and deliverables meet specifications.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proactive and self-motivated, with a strong desire to positively impact employee development.
- Experienced working with IT and/or system developers/administrators to identify technological applications or constraints and leverage technology to achieve desired results.
- High School Diploma or (GED) required
- A bachelor’s degree in instructional design, education technology, or a related field is preferred.
