What You'll Be Working On

Content Designers craft simple, straightforward and human experiences and approach design through the lens of language. You’ll be expected to write for product designs, deliver product flows with in-product language, content frameworks, for platforms including web, mobile web, apps, handheld devices, kiosks and more. We’re looking for someone with the heart of a storyteller and

the brain of a strategist.

The preferred candidate has experience working in a fast-paced environment, managing a diverse

workload, and championing the importance of quality, and consistent copy within all phases of the product process. It doesn’t hurt if you are passionate about healthy food and the grocery industry. This is a great opportunity to be an integral part of the Whole Foods Market team, building the latest in digital grocery products.

Responsibilities
 

  • Design, write, edit and test clear, compelling in-product language to help users and teams meet their goals. This includes product flows, interface language, education materials, product names, navigational nomenclature, terminology, taxonomies and other content across Whole Foods products and experiences.
  • Collaborate in the exploration of innovative product ideas while refining the existing experience.
  • Apply systems thinking to the product, whether it’s defining extensible design system guidance, conducting audits of existing experiences or creating information architecture.
  • Work within the design team, while partnering with product owners, and stakeholders.
  • Socialize and present copy/interaction language solutions and rationale to team and key stakeholders.
  • Review work to ensure it aligns with tone, style, brand guidelines, and voice.
  • Partner across teams to improve the accessibility, inclusion, readability, and translatability of product content
  • A thoughtful, empathetic, and inclusive approach to content design that meets every user where they are
  • Increased focus on content problems across systems and product areas
  • Assist with user research and competitive analysis.
  • Translating complex technical topics into approachable content for all audiences.
  • Writing, curating, and editing content for accuracy, clarity, and usability.
  • Defining content goals and journeys based on user or customer goals.

Education & Experience
 

  • Degree in Writing, English, Journalism, Communication, Information Design, or related
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate the interactions between language and design elements to construct a compelling narrative throughout the user journey
  • Foundational understanding of UX design and design research or A/B testing
  • Able to understand the conceptual basis of a brand and how it should inform content
  • Familiarity with content to developer handoff
  • Considerate of file etiquette in a shared environment
