Job Description:


Pride Health is hiring a Full-Time Athletic Trainer to support our client, in Mauston, WI 53948. This is a permanent direct-hire role, offering a great opportunity for a skilled healthcare professional passionate about injury prevention, rehabilitation, and athlete wellbeing.

Job Summary:

The Athletic Trainer will provide comprehensive medical care to active individuals across a variety of settings, including high school sports events, orthopedic clinics, and occupational health environments. This role focuses on injury prevention, evaluation, rehabilitation, concussion management, and emergency response, while delivering compassionate care and education to athletes, patients, and families.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide on-site coverage for athletic events and after-school activities at assigned high schools.
  2. Perform prevention, evaluation, and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries.
  3. Gather patient histories, conduct physical assessments, diagnose injuries, and develop care plans.
  4. Communicate findings and care plans with athletes, parents, and coaches.
  5. Manage concussion care, including assessment, monitoring, return-to-play progression, and clearance.
  6. Document all evaluations, treatments, and patient interactions.
  7. Identify trends or root causes of injuries to support preventive strategies.
  8. Perform occupational health tasks such as POETs, desk assessments, and functional progress notes.
  9. Conduct functional assessments, post-offer employment tests, and job-specific conditioning programs to support safe return-to-work decisions.
  10. Assist orthopedic physicians by obtaining histories, scheduling procedures, and educating patients.
  11. Coordinate athletic coverage schedules and support additional team needs.
  12. Perform other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

Required:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology.
  2. Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
  3. Active Wisconsin Athletic Trainer License.
  4. Board of Certification (BOC) for Athletic Trainers.
  5. Valid driver’s license.
  6. Current BLS Certification.
  7. Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  1. Proficiency with computers and EMR systems.
  2. Strong skills in musculoskeletal and concussion evaluations.
  3. Knowledge of emergency care and occupational health practices.
  4. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  5. Ability to work independently and in team environments.


Additional Information:

  1. Location: Mauston, WI 53948
  2. Schedule: Full-Time | 80 hours per pay period
  3. Monday–Friday with evening event coverage
  4. Occasional weekends and holiday event coverage
  5. Job Type: Permanent | Direct Hire
  6. Salary range: $50,000.00 to $70,000.00/Yearly
