Salary: $70,000 - $85,000 per year

Job Overview:

Metric have recently partnered with an exciting new client that are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Remote CAD Designer/Drafter with experience in AutoCAD and a solid background in Protection & Controls. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in supporting our clients engineering team by producing accurate and detailed drawings for electrical systems related to protection and control projects. This position is ideal for candidates with a background in Electrical Engineering or a related field who thrive in a remote working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop detailed AutoCAD drawings and designs for protection and control systems in electrical engineering projects.
2. Interpret project specifications, electrical diagrams, and schematics to ensure accurate and timely drafting.
3. Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to deliver quality design solutions.
4. Modify and update existing drawings based on field changes, engineering revisions, or client feedback.
5. Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in all drafting activities.
6. Assist with the creation of technical documentation, reports, and project submittals as needed.
7. Participate in virtual project meetings and provide regular updates on design progress.

Qualifications:

1. Associate’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Drafting, or a related field (Bachelor's Degree preferred).
2. Ability to work and contribute towards high voltage projects.
3. Minimum 2-4 years of AutoCAD drafting experience with a focus on electrical engineering.
4. Experience in Protection & Controls (P&C) systems is highly preferred.
5. Strong knowledge of electrical diagrams, layouts, and schematics.
6. Ability to work independently and manage tasks in a remote environment.
7. Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
8. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to electrical systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
2. Working knowledge of Computer Automated Drafting Design (CADD) or other applications or design or modeling skills.
3. Prior work experience in the power generation, transmission, or distribution sectors.
