This is a full time position working in the dental department of the veterinary clinic. We perform approximately 40 dentals per month. We have updated equipment including a designated room for all dental procedures and digital dental x-rays.

Job Duties:
• Prepare dental charts and medications for patients
• Use a computer based medical record keeping software (Clinic HQ, Shelterluv)
• Intubate dogs and cats and connect to anesthesia machines
• Operate patient monitoring systems (pulse oximeter, physiologic monitor)
• Monitor patients before, during, and after dentals
• Place IV catheters in dogs and cats
• Review charts to ensure that the medication and treatment plan developed by the veterinarian are completed properly
• Administer medications as instructed by the veterinarian
• Draw blood on dogs and cats
• Operate in-house blood machines
• Clean and sterilize dental instruments
• Operate and use computers proficiently
• Compute basic mathematics, including addition, multiplication, fractions, and decimals
• Work with other team members in a positive and efficient manner
• Multitask various duties
• Work conscientiously and be attentive to the patients under our care
• Other duties as assigned by the veterinarian on staff
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to work with cleaning products
• Standing for extended periods of time
• Exposure to high noise levels
• Exposure to hazardous chemicals
• Able to lift 50lbs

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Experience:
• Veterinary technician: 1 year (Required)
License/Certification:
• Veterinary Technician Certification (Preferred)
