Position Purpose: Responsible for protecting confidentiality and integrity of the organizations information assets. Responsible for monitoring networks for security events and alerts to potential/active threats, intrusions, and/or indicators of compromise through advanced analysis and threat hunting. Respond to escalated malicious incidents that require additional investigation and response planning. Review the Incident Response Program for potential modifications and provide recommendations for enhancements and/or process improvements.

Perform technical research into advanced malware, targeted attacks, crimeware campaigns, and other emerging technologies and techniques to identify and report on cyber-attacks and attackers
Perform proactive research to identify, categorize and produce reports on new and existing threats
Correlate information with additional data sources to develop a comprehensive operational picture of malicious actors, and their tactics, techniques, and procedures
Conduct technical evaluations of new or emerging cyber threats, such as attack tools, exploits, malware and etc
Discover and investigate malicious activities in order to determine various tactics such as exploitation methods, and effects on systems and information
Provide awareness to internal analysis and collections teams on changes to the cyber threat landscape and criminal activities
Co-develop and help manage technical capabilities needed to enhance new sources of intelligence collection in partnership with engineering, analysis, and collections teams
Perform incident response services including, but not limiting to, collection, documentation, preservation and analysis of incident evidence
Monitor security infrastructure and security alarm devices for Indicators of Compromise through advanced analysis and hunting techniques.
Perform advanced threat hunting techniques for threats that can not be identified using existing automated security tools.
Investigate and analyze internal and external adversaries and indicators of compromise.
Proactively identify indicators of compromise and generate and execute Incident Response Plan upon detection.
Utilize cyber security analysis to generate security incident reports and document findings.
Responsible for development and execution of incident response plans for escalated response processes.
Serve as Tier 3 level for incident response and provide guidance and subject matter expertise to team members.

Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology related field or equivalent experience. 4+ years of Information Security, IT network or other related IT experience. Experience with SIEM or other security tools. Automation of Incident Response Functions.

This position will be supporting a Federal government contract, therefore it requires U. S. citizenship and proof of favorable adjudication following submission of Department of Defense form SF86 or higher security"
