Job Description:

Linde Advanced Material Technologies (Linde-AMT), a subsidiary of Linde, plc, a supplies atmospheric, process, specialty gases, high-performance coatings, and related services & technologies, is seeking a Safety Health and Environmental Manager for our New Castle,PA, location.

The SH&E Manager is accountable for planning, organizing, coordinating, implementing and maintaining the plant's safety, health and environmental services activities to ensure maximum compliance with Corporate, Federal, State and local laws and regulations. This position represents a very high level of responsibility and individual contribution.

Safety Health and Environmental Manager

  • Monitors the safety, health and environmental performance of the site and recommend priorities and actions for improvement
  • Develops, implements, monitors and updates all SH&E plans, programs, training materials and procedures, ensuring objectives are met
  • Coordinates various safety training programs, maintains training records within databases, and periodically reports on compliance status
  • Plans and presents monthly safety meetings in accordance with training requirements
  • Performs internal audits of the New Castle site and other Linde AMT sites to evaluate SH&E compliance
  • Ensures and monitors on-site contractors’ compliance with company safety regulations
  • Coordinates medical programs and provides effective case management with local HR
  • Oversees site water treatment systems
  • Responsible for shipping all site waste streams, including hazardous waste materials
  • Applies for and maintains all reports and permits for EPA, DEP, Department of Labor and Industry and local agencies

· Maintains a thorough knowledge of any new general industry SH&E requirements and practices

· Investigates root causes to all incidents, writes corrective actions and implements corrective actions

· Completes required Industrial Hygiene Sampling of employees and work areas

· Preforms new employee and contractor orientations

· Completes all online OSHA reports

· Maintains site security programs

· Keeps online and backup SDS’s up to date

Qualifications - External

Requirements

· BA/BS in Occupational Safety, I/H, Environmental, or related discipline

  • Minimum nine years of experience
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) preferred
  • High energy, results-oriented
  • Effective oral and written communication skills; ability to effectively present complex topics in a concise manner
  • Effective interpersonal skills dealing with people at various levels and in a variety of functions.

· Ability to compile, format and present safety subject matter in front of large groups on a frequent basis

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, must be able to effectively communicate up, down and across the organization

· Must be proficient in computer skills including Word, Excel & PowerPoint, able to navigate custom databases and on-line document management software

· Ability to work on teams, manage multiple tasks and interact with senior management

· Preferred candidate will have knowledge / experience in industrial safety, health, and/or environmental science

· Preferred candidate will have knowledge / experience in compliance
