Job Description:

The Juvenile Court Judges' Commission is seeking an engaged and highly motivated individual to join our team as an Information Technology Generalist 1. In this role and as part of the JCJC Help Desk Team, you will provide internal and external customer IT support and services for different applications used by the sixty-seven juvenile probation offices throughout the Commonwealth. These custom-built applications include the Pennsylvania Juvenile Case Management System (PaJCMS), a complete case management system pertaining to alleged and adjudicated delinquent juvenile offenders, and the JCJC Events Management System (JEMS) which allows tracking of records and compliance monitoring for trainings.

 

 

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Information Technology Generalist 1 develops application specifications and assists in the design and maintenance of computer applications to reflect business processes for JCJC applications by analyzing county operations and business procedures. Performs maintenance of data in the database by independently developing, modifying, and executing scripts using Microsoft SQL Server Query Analyzer. This includes remotely connecting to the centralized database servers or by using Cisco VPN Client while working from home. Documents the help desk questions and responses in Service Desk that are received via phone or by the help desk email account.

This position creates new projects and bug fixes descriptions into the JCJC Admin application for requesting changes and following progress of projects. Provides on-site and remote assistance in the management of data pertaining to alleged and adjudicated juvenile offenders in a distributed environment across sixty-seven counties to ensure that disposition reporting is in accordance with the Commonwealth statutory requirements. Develops training curriculum and materials and delivers training on the applications either in person or virtually. Maintains inventory of hardware and software

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Shippensburg.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

 

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as an Information Technology Trainee or Information Technology Technician; or
  • Three years of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, networking or desktop services, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services; or
  • One year of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, networking or desktop services, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services, and an associate's degree in any information technology field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
