Job Description:

Client: Well-Known Food Manufacturing Company
Role: Human Resource Generalist
Salary: $60,000 - $68,000/annually

Location: Brooklyn, NY (On-site 5 days a week)
Hours: 7:00am - 3:00pm or 8:00am to 4:00pm

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works with 150-200 directly and indirectly Union Employees and line workers.
  • Payroll processing to ensure accurate on-time payments on a weekly basis.
  • Track and assign based on seniority all union vacation requests.
  • Track all sick time requests and time.
  • Prepare paperwork and schedules for smooth new-hire onboarding process, coordinating with cross-functional departments.
  • Handle all administrative tasks for onboarding, including entering new hires into ADP Workforce Now.
  • Keep track and process all the I-9 forms and wage notices.
  • Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leaves and compensation.
  • Run ADP reports as required.
  • Work with HR Director to develop the current staff.
  • Writes all written and verbal disciplinary actions for Union employees along with designated supervisor.
  • Maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper form.
  • Work with agencies to obtain utility worker candidates.
  • Manage uniforms for union employees.
  • Prepare Plant notices and company bulletin boards.
  • Work with operation managers to prepare the daily schedule.
  • Adheres to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety and food quality fundamentals including traceability, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) plans, allergens, control of contaminants, calibration of equipment.
  • Prepare employment letters and forms.


Qualifications:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in human resources, business, or related field
  • Capacity to apply discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
  • Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures
  • 2-5 years' experience in Human Resources
  • Minimum 2 years payroll experience with ADP Workforce Now a plus
