We are seeking an experienced grant writer to join our team and contribute to our mission of helping organizations secure vital funding for their impactful programs.
Position Overview
We are looking for a talented and dedicated Grant Associate (Consultant/Contractor) to develop compelling grant proposals for our diverse nonprofit clients. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of prospect research, and securing grants from various sources, including foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
As Grant Associate, you will:
- Manage clients’ grant calendar(s), including clear communication and project management around internal and external deadlines
- Research and identify potential funding opportunities aligned with client needs
- Develop and write high-quality grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and reports; prepare attachments, including project budgets
- Collaborate with clients to gather necessary information and data for proposals
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting all deadlines
- Stay current on grant writing best practices and funding trends
- Contribute to the overall growth and success of A to Be Partners, LLC
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in grant writing, preferably in the nonprofit sector
- Previous experience as a consultant or independent contractor
- Proven success in securing grants of various sizes and types
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Strong research and analytical abilities
- Proficiency in Google Drive and tools
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with Pacific Northwest nonprofits and funders
- Experience with Asana or similar project management tools
Expectations for the First 90 Days
First 30 Days
- Complete onboarding and familiarize yourself with A to Be Partners' processes and clients
- Review and analyze past successful grant proposals
- Begin researching potential funding opportunities for current clients
- Shadow senior team members on client calls and proposal development
60 Days
- Take the lead on writing at least two grant proposals
- Take the lead on using A to Be Partners’ systems for tracking grant opportunities and deadlines for each client
- Contribute ideas for improving the company's grant writing processes
- Begin building relationships with key client contacts
90 Days
- Independently manage a portfolio of 2-4 clients
- Successfully submit at least five high-quality grant proposals
- Provide a presentation to the team on grant writing best practices or industry trends
- Participate in strategic planning for expansion and ongoing improvement of A to Be Partners' grant writing services
