Duration: Perm

Job Description:

Insight Global is looking for a Lead Full Stack Developer to help support an innovation center for an enterprise level hospital system in Maryland. This person is responsible for the technical development and operational management of a digital applications team for the innovation center. Core responsibilities involve a blend of technical expertise and leadership, software developer management, and software release planning, timeline management, and stakeholder management. Serve as a primary point of contact for the delivery of assigned digital assets. This is a dual role - candidate must be capable of handling both hands-on development, as well as leadership responsibilities.

  1. Technical Oversight: Manage the technology stack, architecture, and design to ensure scalability, performance, and maintainability.
  2. Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the software development team, ensuring high-quality code through reviews and adherence to standards.
  3. Agile Management: Oversee the Agile development process, including sprint planning, task prioritization, and facilitating stand-ups and retrospectives.
  4. Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a liaison between the technical team and other stakeholders to align on project goals and timelines.
  5. Domain Proficiency: Maintain expertise in the clinical or operational context of the software and understand business requirements.
  6. Documentation and Compliance: Ensure thorough technical documentation and adherence to industry standards and regulations.
  7. Technical Expertise: Provide insights into current and emerging technologies and best practices.
  8. Standardization: Collaborate to standardize technical implementations across the portfolio.
  9. Culture Building: Foster a collaborative, innovative, and continuous learning environment.
  10. Coaching and Mentoring: Conduct one-on-ones, coach through paired programming, and mentor developers in technical and soft skills.
  11. Supervisory Duties: Handle hiring, discipline, training, development, and performance reviews.

Requirements:

  1. Prior experience leading/managing a small team of at least 2-3 developers
  2. A true Full Stack developer with experience developing applications with the following programming languages:
  3. Python
  4. JavaScript (any flavor - i.e. Angular or React)
  5. SQL (or PostgreSQL)
  6. Epic Clarity
  7. Bachelor's Degree
  8. Minimum 7 years of experience, but given that this is a senior role, 10 years or above is preferred
  9. Prior experience working with healthcare applications/development
  10. Someone who has experience or been part of building applications/technologies that interoperate with Epic

This role involves studying data sources through user interviews, defining and validating data objects, and identifying their relationships. Responsibilities include planning data integration by developing common definitions, designing keys, and establishing specifications. The candidate will assess data models and middleware tools for integration and transformation. Additionally, the role requires developing project scope, identifying integration challenges, forecasting resource needs, and setting delivery timelines.

• Agile Management: Oversee the Agile development process, including sprint planning, task prioritization, and facilitating stand-ups and retrospectives.

• Bachelor's Degree

• Minimum 7 years of experience

• Prior experience working with healthcare applications/development
