We’re looking for a strategic, execution-savvy freelance Social Media Specialist to drive our brand and customer brands across social platforms. This role is ideal for someone who understands how to build powerful social strategies, and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves to execute them. You’ll help create content, source and manage UGC and influencer talent, and coordinate with designers and editors to bring channel-specific content to life.
You’ll be empowered with our internal processes and tools, but we’re counting on your existing expertise to lead the way.
This is a contract, freelance position. Compensation and structure to be discussed.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement multi-platform social media strategies aligned with business goals.
- Create and manage content calendars across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, X (Twitter), Threads, and Pinterest.
- Draft compelling copy and support with basic content creation (e.g. short-form video ideation or scriptwriting, reels, carousels).
- Vet, manage, and collaborate with UGC creators and influencers.
- Coordinate with in-house or freelance designers, video editors, and animators.
- Use AI tools to streamline ideation, repurposing, and posting processes.
- Stay up to date on platform trends, algorithm shifts, and content best practices.
- Track key metrics and optimize campaigns based on performance insights.
Qualifications:
- 1–3 years of experience in a social media or content role (freelance or in-house).
- Strong understanding of platform-native strategies across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Threads, and Pinterest.
- Demonstrated experience managing or coordinating with UGC creators or influencers.
- Working knowledge of design, video, and/or animation workflows and formats.
- Ability to create compelling post concepts.
- Ability to write smart, engaging, brand-aligned copy.
- Familiarity with social media management tools (e.g. Later, Buffer, Sprout, etc.).
- Comfortable using AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Canva Magic, Descript, etc.) to boost productivity.
- Organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple deadlines and collaborators.
- Bonus: Light design or video editing skills, or strong examples of channel-specific campaigns you've led or contributed to.
