The Northern Nevada Children’s Cancer Foundation (NNCCF) is a nonprofit located in Reno, Nevada, providing services to all of northern Nevada. It is the only nonprofit in the region solely dedicated to childhood cancer and has provided Help, Hope, and Courage to local families since 2000. NNCCF strives to alleviate the financial and emotional strain that follows a childhood cancer diagnosis. Since its inception, the foundation has helped northern Nevada families with over $9 million in direct financial assistance. This position provides a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic team making a difference in the fight against childhood cancer.
Job Summary This full-time position is primarily responsible for assisting with fundraising and family events. The successful candidate must be a self-motivated, highly organized individual who can manage several projects simultaneously.
Job Duties/Responsibilities (This list is not exclusive; responsibilities include the following)
Event Planning Assist coordination of signature fundraising events, community partner fundraising events, and NNCCF family events including:
• Pre and post-event planning
• Donor database management (Bloomerang)
• Volunteer management
• Assist with quarterly newsletters and mass email communication.
• Represent NNCCF, in the media and at community events.
Required Skills/Abilities
• High School degree required, Associate’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Bilingual a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with donor and event management platforms a plus.
• Ability to work well independently and with a team.
• Ability to be deadline-oriented, proactive, task-driven, and have a positive attitude.
• Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms; effectively respond to questions from donors, vendors, staff, and members of the community.
• Ability to network effectively in an upbeat and professional manner.
• Ability to coordinate a variety of events with excellent organizational and office management skills; ability to collaborate with vendors, donors, and staff as necessary.
• Ability to pivot quickly in response to the organization and community needs.
• Ability to work with sensitive material and subject matter.
• Ability to function well in a fast-paced, and at times, stressful environment.
• Ability to work traditional business hours and, when needed, extended hours during events. Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
• Ability to set up and participate in activities, which may include bending, squatting, and lifting.
