Job Description:
To help support our rapid growth, AdMedia is actively searching for a Director of Political Advertising Sales with a proven track record in building strategic partnerships and developing strategies for new and existing client development. In this role, you will tap your network of political ad agencies in Washington, D.C. and all other cities where political ad agencies operate. This role requires a hunter mentality and work ethic.
This position is a collaborative role working closely with marketing and account management teams. Knowledge of, and experience in digital media and search advertising is required. Relationships with political ad agencies is a must. Initial and ongoing technical training on our products and services will be provided. This is a remote position.
Responsibilities:
- Quickly become well versed in our industry-leading products and services across search, mobile, video, CTV, and display advertising
- Demonstrate clear ability to prospect and drive acquisition of new relationships
- Develop a comprehensive sales strategy for the political sector
- Build and maintain strong relationships with political clients
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure that the company's offerings align with the needs of political clients
- Ensure that all political sales activities adhere to legal and regulatory requirements, including campaign finance laws and advertising regulations
- Monitor the revenue pipeline and leads, adjusting as necessary to create sustainable growth
- Pitch solutions, not products; comfortable securing prospective clients' ad budgets, market goals, and performance tracking data assets
- Monitor the marketplace and analyze opportunities, providing competitive analysis, strategies, and tactics
- Carry-forward our product offering and position in the digital advertising industry, representing our company at industry conferences and events to win new clients
- Maintain accurate and updated CRM data
Required Experience and Qualifications:
- Ability to work remotely
- Bachelor’s degree; 5+ years of relevant experience, including a track record of success in political sales
- In-depth knowledge of the political advertising landscape
- 5+ years minimum in online search advertising sales
- Relationships with leading executives at agencies such as Aisle 518, Motherships Strategies, Bully Pit Interactive, Blue State, Middle Seat Consulting, Revolution Messaging, Screen Strategies Media, Rising Tide Interactive, Varick Media Management, Duable Brand Trust, etc…
- Must be a strategic thinker who can develop and execute sales strategies tailored to the unique needs of political clients
- A strong focus on achieving sales targets and revenue growth
- The ability to build and expand a network of contacts in the political advertising industry to stay informed about industry developments
- The capacity to identify challenges and develop creative solutions
- Experience with website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, NetInsight, Omniture, WebTrends)
- Familiarity with A/B and multivariate experiments
Compensation Includes:
- Competitive base salary
- Uncapped commission on all booked revenue
