The Leading Niche is looking for an experienced business development professional with extensive knowledge in Navy contracts and technical knowledge of IT as a service.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct and manage primarily Navy based business development through lead generation, qualification, and capture to build the New Opportunity Pipeline that aligns to the corporate strategic plan
- Manage all phases of the business development process including identification, qualification, competitive analyses, development of customer-centric solutions, and capture.
- Development of a comprehensive understanding of new customers’ missions, capabilities, funding, strategic goals, incumbents, and other competitors. Initiate customer visits, calls, competitive analysis, and coordinate presentations, and proposals. Identify technical or SOW requirements, buying influences, and potential project scope for new efforts.
- Lead discussions with federal customers through proposed services/solutions to drive the decision process to closure
- Position company solutions to key decision-makers within Govcon markets
- Assist in creating strategic growth initiatives and strategies to increase market share and to identify new services/solutions
- Establish relationships to grow industry partnering opportunities and teaming strategies on business opportunities in both prime and sub roles
- Provide clear and concise communications on strategic topics to corporate leadership
- Evaluate market data, conduct competitive analyses, and identify and communicate issues impactful to the business
- Participate and/or manage proposal capture and proposal development activities
- Use relevant search portals (e.g., beta.sam, GovWin, FPDS, etc.) and relevant networks to identify potential opportunities
- Research targeted opportunities for incumbency, contract ceilings, and funding levels, competitors, government and industry points of contact, relevant events, etc.
- Compile, maintain and report on an updated opportunity database for review and maintaining the company’s pipeline of existing and new opportunities
- Assist in proposal efforts including developing proposal outlines, content, and other support as may be needed
- Contribute and/or manage data calls as may be necessary
- Represent the company during corporate and industry events
Requirements
- 5 years minimum relevant Business Development experience in IT, software, and business management professional solutions
- 3 years minimum experience leading Business Development within Navy markets - able to demonstrate knowledge of federal DHS Navy customers
- Experience with GovWin, SAM (FedBizOps), GSA eBuy
- Experience with SeaPort-NxG or SeaPort-e
- Highly organized and detail oriented
- Achievement oriented with disciplined time management skills
- Innovative and strategic thinker
- Excellent communicator
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new IT systems and capabilities; can support implementation and use of relevant IT systems for BD tracking and qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in business, technical, or related field
