Our client is seeking a Design Engineer with a background in metal fabrication and manufacturing to join their team. This is a direct hire role located in Ramsey, MN.

Job Title: Design Engineer
Location: Ramsey, MN

Key Responsibilities

• Creates designs, specifications, models, bills of material and manufacturing drawings along with a team of other engineers and drafters.
• Coordinates efforts with production to ensure that the design meets manufacturability capabilities including tolerance stack up and surface finish.
• Ensures that the intended product or structure will be safe, dependable, cost effective and meet regulatory requirements.
• Builds a prototype if needed, for testing and approval.
• Reviews customer models and drawings for missing or incorrect information required in producing the customer’s part through to completion.

Requirements

• Degree and / or experience in mechanical or manufacturing engineering or a related field. Seeking candidates with at least 3 years of experience.
• Direct and practical experience working with machining, welding and sheet metal fabrication highly desired.
• Solid experience with product design and manufacturing, especially Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
• 3D CAD required (preferably Solid Works).
• Knowledge of GD&T principles.
