Our client, a nationwide retailer, is looking for a part-time Copywriter (20 hours/weekly) to support their team on an ongoing basis. In this role you will write copy for advertisements and other collateral for retail. Must be able to think conceptually, provide quick creative solutions, take charge of multiple projects and write compelling copy that is backed by sound strategy.

This is a fully remote opportunity, around 20 hours weekly, W2 contract.

Responsibilities:

1. Translates strategy into creative solutions
2. Adheres to standard copy practices
3. Helps develops concepts for campaigns (e.g., brand, seasonal, corporate, cause-related)
4. Works closely with art directors, designers, strategy and merchant partners to develop concepts for projects and campaigns
5. Attends and presents creative at creative reviews with design and copy manager
6. Writes and presents rationale for client presentations as assigned
7. Ensures brand integrity is maintained
8. Works with partners throughout life of project to incorporate changes, input proof comments and ensure copy is up-to-date and accurate
9. Responsible for editing copy to reflect changes on requests and reviews
10. Responsible for adhering to production schedules and monitoring all updates.
11. Responsible for knowing the status of each project and managing daily calendar to ensure milestones and deadlines are met

Qualifications:

1. Experience writing copy for retail is preferred.
2. Experience with direct-mail and in-store copy preferred.
3. Demonstrated copywriting ability as indicated by writing samples - Online Portfolio needed
4. Minimum three years' work experience in writing
5. Superior grasp of grammar and style as indicated by test
6. Strong ideation and communication skills
7. Proficient in Microsoft Word
8. 4-year college degree in English, journalism, communications or related subject.
9. Proficient in English writing and editing required, Spanish proficiency preferred.
