Job Title: Cerner Registration Consultant


Employment Type: W2, Hourly (no subcontractors/C2Cs)


Location: Planned to be mostly remote with up to 50% travel at times and must be willing to go up to 100% travel as required by the site. All associates must have a strong, reliable Wi-Fi network, and a quiet, dedicated space for remote work.


Schedule: Mon – Friday, time zones may vary dependent on site location. No guarantee of hours or a consistent schedule.


Job Description:

Intermediate consulting position operating independently with some assistance and guidance to provide quality work products to a project team or customer that comply with methodologies and practices. Performs standard duties and tasks with some variation to implement products and technology to meet customer specifications.

Standard assignments are accomplished without assistance by exercising independent judgment, within defined policies and processes, to deliver functional and technical solutions on moderately complex customer engagements.


Responsibilities: As a Consultant III, you will:

  1. Consult with clients on service line workflow, and guide them through interdependencies and design decision impacts.
  2. Provide solution oversight, direction, and expertise to stakeholders.
  3. Lead the design and implementation of client-specific solutions, ensuring the system meets workflow requirements and recommending optimizations.
  4. Mitigate solution risks and issues, driving proactive resolutions.
  5. Drive and manage internal team initiatives and collaborate on project goals.
  6. Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, identifying opportunities to improve services.
  7. Document solution designs, workflows, and configurations thoroughly and accurately.
  8. Actively contribute to project and task planning, resource management, and coordination efforts.
  9. Facilitate client meetings, training sessions, and workshops to ensure successful solution implementation and user adoption.
  10. Analyze client feedback to improve operational workflows and solutions.
  11. Participate in knowledge sharing and training initiatives with internal teams.
  12. Serve as a subject matter expert in the integration and configuration of products with other systems.


Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with senior leadership to develop best practices and continuous improvement strategies within the organization.
  2. Stay informed on the latest industry trends, product updates, and innovations to guide clients effectively.
  3. Assist in the creation of training materials, user manuals, and technical documentation.
  4. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards in healthcare technology implementations.
  5. Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adjusting priorities to meet project deadlines and customer expectations.
  6. Perform solution testing, troubleshooting, and validation in client environments.
  7. Support project post-implementation efforts, including issue resolution and system optimization.


Skills and Competencies:

  1. Strong understanding of Registration workflows, particularly prenatal care, reproductive health, maternity services, gynecological services, and postpartum care processes.
  2. Proficiency in Oracle Health (Cerner) technologies and platforms, particularly in configuring and supporting Registration systems.
  3. Exceptional problem-solving abilities and the capacity to think critically and independently.
  4. Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present technical content to non-technical stakeholders.
  5. Leadership and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities.
  6. High level of attention to detail with a focus on delivering quality results.
  7. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a remote work environment.
  8. Adept at facilitating meetings, discussions, and decision-making with stakeholders at various levels of an organization.

Technical Experience:

  1. Demonstrated expertise in Registration systems—particularly Oracle Health’s Registration solutions (formerly Cerner), focusing on prenatal care, gynecological services, reproductive health, and maternal health workflows.
  2. Experience working with community care management systems in Registration, including referral management, care coordination, and maternity services.
  3. Knowledge of key Registration management tools, including obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN), prenatal assessment, labor and delivery, and postpartum care, integrated into the Oracle Health platform.
  4. Expertise in designing and optimizing workflows related to family planning, fertility care, and maternal health initiatives aimed at improving patient outcomes and enhancing care quality.

Tech Stack & System Integration:

  1. Oracle Health (Cerner): Hands-on experience with Cerner Millennium Registration solutions, including prenatal care tracking, birth planning, gynecological management, and postpartum care workflows.
  2. Proficiency in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and its integration with Cerner Registration solutions, ensuring effective management of patient data, electronic health records (EHR), and care coordination.
  3. Familiarity with FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) standards for ensuring seamless data exchange between Registration systems, referral partners, and other community health providers.
  4. Integration experience with EHR systems, particularly in coordinating Registration referrals, OB/GYN practices, family planning services, and maternal health networks.

Integration and Customization:

  1. Experience customizing Cerner Registration solutions to meet the specific needs of Registration service lines, including maternal care, gynecological care, and reproductive health management.
  2. Worked with clients to integrate third-party tools and Registration programs with Oracle Health platforms, optimizing care delivery and tracking for high-risk pregnancies, family planning, and reproductive health services.
  3. Expertise in configuring community-based referral systems within the Oracle Health ecosystem to support Registration services, including prenatal care referrals, labor and delivery planning, and postpartum follow-up.

  2. Perform other responsibilities as assigned, which may evolve based on the needs of the client and the project.
  3. Perform all clearance requirements and associated onboarding responsibilities/tasks on personal time as required within specified deadlines.
  4. Flexibility to adapt to changing project demands, including occasional extended hours and travel on short notice.
  5. Exhibit a strong commitment to continuous learning and professional development in healthcare IT and related fields.
  6. Maintain client confidentiality and comply with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements, including HIPAA and government regulations.


Requirements

Education:

  1. High School Diploma (Secondary School); Bachelor's Degree or higher level of education preferred.

Experience:

  1. At least 8 years total combined related work experience and completed higher education, including:
  2. At least 2 year of healthcare information technology (HCIT) consulting, HCIT support, and/or other client-facing or IT solution work experience.
  3. At least 6 years of additional work experience directly related to the duties of the job and/or completed higher education in relevant areas.
  4. Proven track record of successful project implementation, customer relations, and IT solutions delivery in the healthcare space.
  5. Experience in working with VA-specific systems or other government healthcare technologies is highly desirable.


Security Clearance:

All associates onboarded to this program will need to successfully pass a federal background check and drug screen. Must obtain interim Public Trust eligibility during onboarding.
