Central Washington University is recruiting an Associate Athletics Director for Compliance and Student-Athlete Services to join our Athletics Administration team in Ellensburg, Washington. This position has a minimum annual salary of $59,068 and maximum annual salary of $85,648. The Hiring Department's expected hiring range is $59,068 - $72,358 annually plus the awesome CWU benefits.

The Role:

The Assistant/Associate Athletic Director for Compliance and Student-Athlete Services position supports the work of the Athletics department through service on the senior management staff. This position is responsible to coordinate, implement, facilitate, and oversee the Athletic Compliance program. This includes the educational, monitoring and investigating components, as well as other areas within the program that strengthen and enhance the athletic compliance efforts. This position also leads in the oversight and facilitation of athletic-related academic services, financial aid, student-athlete support and welfare programs, and partners with campus divisions relating to students. All employees are expected to support CWU's commitment to diversity and to bring and support inclusion into the university environment. *This position may be designated as the Senior Woman Administrator.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
  • Knowledge of Federal Title IX regulations
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience developing and delivering programs that develop personal and leadership skills of student-athletes
  • Experience and/or training that demonstrates the ability to use Word, Excel, e-mail and/or similar software application to produce written correspondence, create and maintain spreadsheets, and receive and respond to e-mail inquiries, tasks, etc.
  • Demonstrated commitment to inclusion and/or experience working with students and/or co-workers from a wide range of abilities, backgrounds and experiences
  • OR applicable combination of education and/or experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree
  • 3-5 years Intercollegiate athletic administrative experience
  • Knowledge of the structure of NCAA and GNAC conference rules and regulations as it relates to compliance
  • Experience advising diverse groups of student athlete populations
  • Experience with the NCAA Compliance Assistance Software, Front Rush, NCAA Eligibility Center
  • Experience in the administration of athletic-related financial aid.
  • Knowledge and experience with institutional degree audit software (PeopleSoft, Banner)
  • Experience developing tracking and reviewing systems, compiling data, and preparing reports
  • Experience interpreting and applying complex policies and regulations
  • Demonstrated participation in programs designed to promote inclusion
  • Potential to mentor and educate students who will serve diverse populations

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

Salary: This position has a minimum annual salary of $59,068 and maximum annual salary of $85,648. The Hiring Department's expected hiring range is $59,068 - $72,358. In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the hiring range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Schedule/Appointment: Monday - Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm (1 hour lunch)

Working Conditions: Work is performed in an indoor office setting with frequent in-person interactions. It is essential to be able to remain at a desk/computer work station for prolonged periods of time, perform extensive data entry and other computer-related tasks and create/maintain filing systems for departmental records. Some evening or weekend work and/or occasional travel may be required to attend national seminars and conventions and occasional team travel.
