Under the supervision of the Turner Foundation Director of Youth and Community Programs, this position is responsible for the planning, development, expansion, and evaluation of all academic programming for youth, teens, and adults. This position will assist the Director of Youth and Community Programs with planning, organization and implementation of a quality youth education program for The Village and Lighthouse Community Learning Center programs. They will work with youth between the ages of 5-18 in accordance with the mission statement of the Turner Foundation and CLC programs. They will work with the Education Liaison to create, track, and maintain metrics about reach and effectiveness of the education program.

Essential Functions and Job Duties:
1. Responsible for running the day-to-day operations at the Community Learning Centers, including programming, planning, coordinating, and leading a team of staff and volunteers.
2. Responsible for the development and improvement of the education curriculum.
3. Connect with and work in collaboration with teachers and schools of all our students to create a “triangle of support” for our kids with teachers, parents and CLC staff.
4. Knowledge of child development and the group work process.
5. Have a strong sense of empathy. Provide kids, parents, and CLC staff with feedback, coaching, guidance, and support.
6. Oversee and develop program staff, under the guidance of the Director of Youth and Community Programs.
7. Build and nurture strategic collaborations within the community.
8. Plan with the Education Liaison and implement quality programming which includes, but is not limited to tutoring, sports, nutrition, art, crafts, dance, music, etc.
9. Lead in planning and implementation of a quality program in accordance with the policies and philosophies of The Turner Foundation.
10. Maintain proper control using constructive methods, keeping in mind each child’s individual needs.
11. Plans, prepares, implements, and evaluates activities on a monthly basis with the support and assistance of the Education Liaison and other program staff.
12. Assist and oversee cleanliness and organization in the Community Learning Centers.
13. Attends all Staff Meetings and training when applicable.
14. Leads weekly CLC Staff Meetings.
15. Maintain a professional attitude with parents, staff, tenants, and children at all times.
16. Continue professional growth through dialogue with supervisor and staff.
17. Completes other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
18. Actively participates and supports parent involvement activities.
19. Pursue community partnerships recruitment of volunteers and interns.
20. Lead by example to provide safe and effective program service.
21. Support the Development team in advancements for the CLC and Turner Foundation as a whole.
22. Constantly align the CLC program with the overall mission and goals of The Turner Foundation as a whole.

Skills:
1. Ability to communicate effectively with youth, teens, adults, staff, and supervisor
2. Experience working with youth/teens in a recreation and/or educational setting
3. Has experience supervising a team and employees.
4. First Aid and CPR Certifications
5. Must have the physical, visual, and auditory ability to perform the essential duties of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
6. Ability to communicate effectively with youth, teens, adults, staff, and supervisor.
7. Experience working with youth/teens in a recreation and/or educational setting.

Education/Experience:
BA in Education or relevant field, or 2 years of relevant work experience.
Details:
· Full-time position.
· 40 hrs per week
· General Job Hours (subject to change) - Monday-Friday: 12pm- 7pm
· Pay range: $50,000-$60,000, based on work experience
