Job Description:

We site, build, and operate EV charging depots for commercial fleets across sectors ranging from delivery and distribution to autonomous vehicles and ride hailing. We are looking for an experienced Utilities Manager that will lead nationwide utility engagements, timelines and solutions and serve as internal subject matter expert for utility processes and programs. This position will directly support the development and deployment of world-class EV charging installations. The ideal candidate will lead with relationship development but follow with specialty matter expertise in utility procurement.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Serve as in-house subject matter expert for electric utility matters
  • Act as the main point of contact for all utilities and proactively work to develop long term relationships
  • Gather and disseminate intimate knowledge of applicable utility programs
  • Create internal strategy for preliminary utility capacity studies, including any recommendations to utilize local utility consultants
  • Make recommendations on site searches driven by utility information
  • Responsible for seeking, understanding and qualifying for any utility incentives programs
  • Complete required utility documentation throughout project development and deployment process
  • Collect, manage, and clearly communicate utility schedule timelines and dependencies
  • Understand power distribution and high-power charging technology & products, and internal strategy for deployment
  • Secure any easements required for utility delivery
  • Work in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned

MUST-HAVE:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 5+ years of relatable experience
  • 3+ years past or current experience working at an electric utility
  • 2+ years supporting the deployment of high-power utility installations
  • Knowledge of current electric distribution and high-power charging technology & products
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects/responsibilities
  • Strong communications, both written and verbal, in leading teams and coordinating with peers and other disciplines on driving projects/issues to closure
  • Commitment to organizational excellence and constant awareness to seek opportunities to improve processes/quality of deliverables

NICE-TO-HAVE:

  • Experience supporting the interconnection of large primary voltage utility services
  • 2+ years supporting the deployment of high-power EV charging, either from within a utility or as outside support

LOCATION:

  • San Francisco Bay, Denver, or Washington D.C. areas (remote) preferred / USA, Remote
