LHH has a client located in remote who needs a Usability Researcher 2 on a contract opportunity!

Location: Remote - The preferred location for candidates is within the Pacific Time Zone (PST). Candidates from Mountain or Central Time Zones (MST or CST) may also be considered

Pay: $52 - $57/hour

Typical Day in the Role

Purpose of the Team; Planning and executing qualitative and quantitative or mixed methods research studies and experiments to discover and apply insights to the design of Office products, with a primary focus on PowerPoint. Analyzing and synthesizing data, sensemaking across multiple data sources, prioritizing issues, and tracking impact of research. ideally UX experience as many of the following as possible: UX Research, Design Research, AI Tools/Apps, Compete, Figma (Journey mapping, problem space scoping), Product Feature/Usability Testing

Key projects: Clipchamp: Candidates will be involved in projects related to Clipchamp, focusing on video editing and visual storytelling. Copilot: Work on projects related to Copilot, integrating AI tools and enhancing user experience. AI Research: Conduct research and contribute to projects involving AI technologies and their applications. Candidate

Requirements

  1. Years of Experience Required: 4+ overall years of experience in the field.


Degrees or certifications required:

  1. A bachelor's degree is preferred but not a strict requirement for the role.
  2. The focus is more on the candidate's experience and skill sets, particularly in UX research and visual design.


Portfolio: Candidates who do not provide portfolios and work samples will be disqualified.

  1. Best vs. Average: 2+ years of experience conducting UX research in technical domains.
  2. Ability to quickly and effectively analyze research data and present rich findings simply and

clearly to influence product design and direction.

  1. Passion for learning new technologies and understanding the needs of users across a wide range of technical abilities.
  2. Great communication on project management Verbal and written communication skills, negotiation skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Demonstrated ability to impact and influence business decisions across boundaries, often in ambiguous situations.
  2. Proven storytelling and communication skills across leadership, engineering teams, designers, customers, and partners.
  3. Strong leadership skills to deliver projects and customer insights within and across product teams that resulted in robust product impact.
  4. Ability to plan research against business needs. Experience conducting research globally and working with global stakeholders.
  5. Experience working with AI tools, presentation tools and strong design experience and output (e.g. knowledge of Figma, PowerPoint deck building etc.) strongly desired Ability to work independently and manage ones time
  6. Performance Indicators: Performance will be assessed based on ability to work fast paced environment and quality of work.


Top 3 Hard Skills Required + Years of Experience

  1. Minimum 6+ years’ experience with UX Research experience with mixed methods
  2. Minimum 6+ years’ experience with Presentation design and storytelling experience
  3. Minimum 4+ years’ experience with Ability to run research independently
