We are seeking an Unreal Engine Support Engineer (UESE) to join our IT team. As UESE, you will use your Unreal Engine and game development experience to support our Realtime Cinematics (RTC) team, playing an important role in the production of our exciting video game trailers. As a member of the IT team, you will also contribute to supporting the rest of the Buddha Jones family more broadly.
Primary duties (to be performed independently for the RTC team):
- Troubleshoot Unreal Engine and other 3D applications like Maya, Substance Painter, Blender, and Cinema4D.
- Troubleshoot After Effects & other 2D creative applications and related plugins.
- Troubleshoot Perforce version control software.
- Train creative teams on perforce.
- Maintain and optimize in-house Perforce server.
- Act as primary technical point of contact and liaison between client studios and the inhouse team.
- Work closely with game studios to set up connections and bring builds in house for creative work or capture.
- Tackle technical delivery problems, which require focused research and testing.
- Manage and otherwise support perforce builds across multiple internal and external perforce instances.
- Create and maintain baseline build requirements.
- Maintain, optimize, and deploy RTC-specific virtual and physical workstations.
- Create and repackage executable builds of specific game projects as needed for cinematic capture.
Additional duties:
- Debug issues, errors and failures.
- Debug/modify/generate scripted code to resolve problems efficiently and integrate existing tools.
- Document your work for future reference and knowledge sharing.
- As service desk member, support users in our Games Capture department, Motion Graphics Department, and admin personnel on occasion.
Background:
- Experience in Media & Entertainment.
- Strong technical background in Unreal Engine, should have solid conceptual understanding of blueprints, C++ and Unreal sequencer and texture resource management.
- Experience with Perforce with experience in build creation from IDE.
- Demonstrable experience improving Unreal Engine workflows.
- Enterprise shared storage experience.
- Excellent project management skills, capable of coordinating multiple vendors and stakeholders, setting priorities, and meeting deadlines.
- Inquisitive nature and a persistent drive to understand.
- Basic proficiency with PowerShell, Python, and shell scripting.
