Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) is seeking an innovative professional to serve as the Training and Development Manager.
This position will serve a pivotal role in helping SPU to effectively meet its strategic leadership and workforce development objectives and is responsible for implementing training and career development action plans.
This position will design, implement, and evaluate programs that facilitate professional, skill, workforce and leadership development in support of SPU's Strategic Business Plan (Download PDF reader) and operational objectives. The position reports directly to the Human Resource Director and supervises a staff of six training professionals.

Job Responsibilities
The Training and Development Manager provides leadership focus and management for SPU's learning and education programs. The Manager coordinates the design and implementation of consistent education and development programs aligned with SPU's Mission. The successful candidate will be motivated by delivering training and building internal capacity to support SPU's strategic goal of improving services by continually updating employee skills. Flexibility, motivation, and a drive for results are critical to success in this leadership role - but a passion for employee learning and development is essential.

This position allows for the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule. Employees will be required to come into the office a minimum of twice a week and may be increased based on business needs. Individual schedules will be agreed upon by the employee and their supervisor.

The full salary range for this position is: $85,628.88 - $128,432.88 annually.
