As Systems Project Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving the engineering systems with new product offerings based on R&D designs and customer needs for electrical equipment. You will work with Mechanical Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Product Managers, and Manufacturing, within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts, & resolve issues.

Engineering Manager III

Your responsibilities

 

  • Plan, organize, lead, and execute multiple small and large projects simultaneously while meeting target delivery dates
  • Develop user requirements, specifications, and structure for improving various applications, including, but not limited to Empower, Rulestream, ePLAN, GPLM, and/or SAP
  • Design, code, and test new programs using languages like Visual Basic (VBA and VB.NET) and C#
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, IT, and SAP teams to resolve system issues
  • Improve mechanical configurator code and tables for diverse product lines
  • Enhance electrical CAD tools for various product lines
  • Set up, maintain, and train users on engineering systems; provide support as needed, including evenings and weekends for production and inventory support

 

Your background

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or Mathematics from an accredited college or university
  • Experience in Empower, Rulestream, ePLAN, GPLM, and/or SAP
  • Working knowledge of SQL and database management
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, Visual Basic (VBA and VB.NET), C#, and other software applications
  • Experience with Low Voltage and/or Medium Voltage Switchgear products, or other electrical equipment)
  • Understanding of mechanical design and assembly
  • Project management skills with ability to plan, execute & document programs/projects
  • Willingness to support off-shift manufacturing teams
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
