We’re looking for a Staff Infrastructure Engineer who has a lot of experience, is eager to learn, and is drawn to complicated, technical challenges. We also need to be able to rely on each other as we grow this company together.

You would:

1. Be an early member of the Gadget team, which means huge impact on the direction of the product and infrastructure
2. Primarily work with PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, Go, and TypeScript
3. Be involved in the development of core primitives and core infrastructure to build out the platform
4. Be involved in the testing, operation, and maintenance of the Gadget production infrastructure, including on-call responsibilities
5. Respond to incidents and work to improve uptime
6. Build software to (try to) automate yourself out of a job
7. Frequently give and accept feedback
8. Own solutions from end to end, managing complexity and engaging directly with stakeholders
9. Mentor junior members of the team to help them learn and grow
10. Assess new technologies and approaches to see if they are right for us
11. Debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack
12. Uphold Gadget’s high standards for engineering and product quality

We’re looking for someone who:

1. Has at least six years of software development experience
2. Has at least three years of production systems experience
3. Has expertise in several parts of the web stack
4. Cares deeply about the user’s experience and meeting the commitments made to them
5. Wants to work with people who encourage you to do your best work and are invested in your growth and development
6. Takes pride in working on projects from ideation to delivery, and enjoy seeing your products being used by customers
7. Enjoys trying to break things
