Entry to mid-level Staff Accountant role for local commercial flooring Subcontractor. Main job responsibilities directly related to AP/AR, inventory, month-end close and account reconciliations. This role requires critical thinking, attention to detail, excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to meet assigned deadlines.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
· 1+ years of accounting experience, with a strong understanding of financial principles and practices.
· Solid understanding of month-end close process.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP’s.
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
· Ability to learn new software quickly.
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
· Able to lift 20lbs.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
· Inventory reconciliation.
· Work In Process (WIP).
· Fixed Assets and Depreciation.
· Basic understanding of financial statements.
· Construction accounting (or related field); knowledge of contracts, CO’s, liens, prelims, and Releases.
· Insurance knowledge (GL, WC, Auto, etc.).
GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Full cycle AP functions: invoice coding, entry and payment.
· AR oversight: assist AR staff with billing, and collections.
· Month-end close: monthly journal entries, bank reconciliation, BS account reconciliations, inventory reconciliation, commission calculation, WIP, financial statement updates.
· Project closing, job cost entries and transfers.
· Insurance compliance requests for customers and subcontractors.
· Other duties as assigned.
