Robert Half is hiring for a Senior Front-End Developer (Angular 18 + DevExtreme) – Remote | 11-Month Contract | FinTech

We are seeking a Senior Front-End Developer to lead a high-visibility initiative to modernize and enhance a FinTech platform’s user experience. This role focuses on upgrading the current Angular environment from version 16 to version 18 and integrating DevExtreme UI components to create responsive, scalable, and high-performance web applications.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned JavaScript engineer with hands-on experience managing Angular version migrations, architecting component-based systems, and working with enterprise-grade UI frameworks like DevExtreme or DevExpress. You will work closely with product owners, UX designers, and backend developers to deliver features that are both visually compelling and technically sound.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead the upgrade of a complex front-end application from Angular 16 to Angular 18, ensuring backwards compatibility and minimal disruption.
2. Architect and implement responsive, reusable UI components using DevExtreme for Angular.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and translate design specifications into functional, scalable code.
4. Ensure application performance, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility across devices.
5. Conduct code reviews and mentor junior front-end developers on best practices and new Angular features.
6. Monitor and troubleshoot front-end performance issues, ensuring high availability and responsiveness.
7. Maintain thorough documentation on upgrade paths, component integration, and front-end architecture.

Required Qualifications:

1. 6+ years of front-end development experience, with a deep focus on Angular (preferably Angular 9 and above).
2. Proven experience upgrading Angular applications, ideally to version 18.
3. Strong expertise in implementing DevExtreme (or DevExpress) UI components in Angular applications.
4. Solid understanding of TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3/SASS.
5. Experience with RESTful APIs, RxJS, and reactive programming concepts.
6. Knowledge of accessibility standards and responsive web design best practices.
7. Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile development methodologies.

Nice to Have:

1. FinTech industry experience or familiarity with highly regulated industries.
2. Experience with unit testing frameworks like Jasmine or Karma.
3. Previous involvement in large-scale enterprise application migrations.
