Solutions Engineer/System Administrator (Disaster Recovery)

Remote - (Occasional visits to the office throughout the year in Virginia, United States)

Salary $85k

The Solutions Engineer will be responsible for tasks relating to completing customer facing Disaster Recovery implementations, smoke tests, drills, and invocations. The candidate will take direction from the Disaster Recovery Engineering leads. This role will be on part of a team responsible for ensuring the Disaster Recovery (DR) readiness of all of the DR customer base, implementing new customers, and ensuring that tests go smoothly. Best candidates need to have excellent oral and written communication skills in addition to technical expertise.

Responsibilities

• Perform Scripted and manual recoveries of multiple virtual machines, physical machine, and application types
• Provide feedback on improving internal processes and customer facing processes
• Troubleshoot and maintain -

Customer runbooks

Methods of recovery within the environment

Supported DR infrastructure

• Assist customers in troubleshooting technical issues related to recovery
• Switch and Firewall configuration (pfSense)
• Assist in troubleshooting of complex support issues
• Complete documentation of process / procedures and diagrams of completed work

Accountabilities and Performance Measures

• Shows appropriate precaution and care in handling production systems
• Displays consistent growth in understanding of Assured Systems
• Completes tasks within reasonably prescribed periods
• Completes training and achieves Rubrik Certified Systems Administrator
• Demonstrates punctuality and consistent attendance

Organizational Alignment

• Reports to the Manager of Disaster Recovery
• Enlists the support of technical and management resources as needed
• Participates in weekly stand-ups and projects
• Work with customers on outstanding issues surrounding DR tests, preparation, and invocation

Qualifications

• Associates / bachelor’s in systems administration or equivalent work Experience or Technical certifications
• Minimum of 5 years working with IT systems
• Experience with -

Virtualization systems (VMware, Nutanix, Hyper-V)

Network configurations (IP addressing, Gateways, DNS, etc.)

Engineering tools for troubleshooting connectivity

Server hardware

• Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

Advanced proficiency in Windows and Linux Operating systems

Active Directory Experience

SQL Server conceptual and basic understanding
