We are seeking a Software Engineer with 4+ years of professional experience to join our dynamic team. This position is available as fully remote anywhere in the U.S., or hybrid/in-office for candidates in the New York City, Salt Lake City, or Idaho areas. In this role, you will design and implement secure, scalable, and efficient integrations between our in-house API, partner APIs, and various systems of record. You will also oversee critical AWS infrastructure, maintain security best practices, and ensure compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proficient in Python and AWS, and excels in collaborative problem-solving within a distributed team environment.
Key Responsibilities
Integration Development
- Build and maintain integrations between various APIs and data systems
- Collaborate with external partners to synchronize data flows in real-time
- Translate functional requirements into secure, efficient code and integrations
AWS & Python Engineering
- Develop Python-based microservices and serverless applications within AWS
- Leverage Amazon DynamoDB, CloudWatch, and other AWS tools to ensure reliability and performance
- Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting solutions to track system health
Cloud Infrastructure & Security
- Oversee AWS resources (including ECS, IAM roles, and VPCs) to maintain a stable and scalable environment
- Apply best practices for cloud security and data management
- Collaborate with internal teams to continuously improve security and compliance workflows
Testing & Documentation
- Create and maintain automated tests to ensure reliability and reduce deployment risks
- Draft clear and concise technical documentation, including runbooks and integration guides
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with product managers, data analysts, and external stakeholders to gather requirements and troubleshoot issues
- Participate in code reviews and offer feedback to enhance overall code quality
- Share knowledge and best practices with colleagues to strengthen team expertise
Experience & Background
- 4+ years of professional experience in software engineering, cloud integrations, or a similar role
- Proven track record of deploying and maintaining cloud-based applications (AWS strongly preferred)
- Familiarity with APIs and data exchange formats (JSON, XML, SFTP, etc.)
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Python and version control (Git/GitHub)
- Experience working with and architecting API integrations
- Ability to design and implement secure, scalable integrations in a cloud environment
Soft Skills
- Strong problem-solving and debugging abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Detail-oriented and organized approach to managing multiple projects
Preferred
- Exposure to Infrastructure-as-Code (AWS CDK, Terraform, or CloudFormation)
- Experience in the financial or legal tech space
- Background in building or optimizing data-intensive workflows
