Software Developer II

EKN Engineering is fast-growing civil engineering and technology consulting company seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer. An ideal candidate has strong technical expertise, a product mindset, and takes a hands-on approach for driving engineering best practices.

Role Overview: The Software Developer is responsible for full stack development and maintaining our client facing applications. The Software Developer maintains applications and responds to incidents related to consistent operational status and assurance of established service levels. The ideal team member is motivated to serve, has excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to recognize new challenges, and creates solutions with input from technical teams, clients, and Management.

Essential Functions

1. Develop full stack web applications to the speed and efficiency of software products and grow our overall product offering
2. Design, develop, and maintain SaaS applications
3. Research and adapt to emerging technologies
4. Assist in solving technology related problems
5. Respond to after-hours emergencies as directed by management

Other Responsibilities

1. Maintain an elevated level of accountability, recognizing the high-profile nature and security sensitivity of customer data
2. Work with Product Managers to understand customer requests and provide solutions
3. Continuously adhere to all company policies
4. Assist other IT teams as needed
5. And other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

1. 2+ years of experience
2. Strong experience of Angular/React/Vue,
3. Experience with NodeJS
4. Experience with RabbitMQ or similar message broker technologies
5. Experience integrating RESTful APIs
6. Experience with Docker containers
7. Experience with system architecture, application design, database design and administration
8. Agile development process experience
9. Strong verbal and written communication skills
10. Self-driven team player with ability to work independently and multi-task
11. Proven record in setting and meeting project deadlines
12. Version control systems (e.g. Azure DevOps, Git, SVN, etc.)
13. Developing applications backed by RDBMS (e.g. MS SQL Server, MySQL, Postgres, etc.).
14. Experience with Cloud providers (Azure, AWS, GCP)

Scammers might reference real job openings or describe fake opportunities that generally match individuals’ professional backgrounds, with the goal of establishing communication and eventually obtaining private financial information to defraud people.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation and Federal Trade Commission warn that employment scams such as this are a growing cyber threat. EKN urges anyone who is contacted about employment opportunities to exercise caution and know that:

1. All communication from EKN Engineering will be from an EKN employee using the @eknengineering.com email domain. We do not use third-party recruiters.
2. EKN Engineering recruiters will only schedule interviews for candidates who have applied for a position through our secure portal.
3. No corporate or IT systems at EKN are affected by this scam. The scammers are using EKN’s logo and employee names to impersonate the company.
