Virgo is the leading cloud video capture, management, and AI analysis platform for endoscopy. Since launching in 2018, we have helped physicians from leading medical centers including The Mayo Clinic, Northwestern University, and Mass General Hospital capture over 300,000 endoscopy videos — the largest dataset of its kind.

Now, we are expanding Virgo to create the leading clinical trial platform for diseases involving endoscopy. Our initial focus has been inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), where we are already helping leading trial sponsors increase patient recruitment by over 5x.

Job Description

Virgo is actively seeking a highly motivated Senior Software Engineer with expertise in web development. This person will be guiding the development of a completely new product in an exciting growth market and improving the user experience for our existing customer base.

Reports To

Chris Lawcock - Engineering Team Lead

In this role, you'll get to:

• Design and implement features enabling completely new business models on top of existing data
• Redesign core functionality to improve the usability of our existing web portal
• Modernize our existing provider portal to leverage a best-in-class technology stack

We'll expect you to:

• Have solid experience with Vue.js, React.js, or similar frontend frameworks
• Have a good eye for design and be comfortable translating wireframes into hi-fi designs and weighing in on best UX/UI practices
• Be proficient with modern JavaScript, TypeScript, and associated toolsets (Node, Webpack, etc.)
• Be product-minded with a passion for great UX
• Have a good understanding of Python-based web frameworks such as Django and Flask
• You are comfortable moving up and down the stack as needed to finish a project - with a primary focus on front-end work

Bonus points if you have:

• Experience dealing with streaming video and media in the browser
• Familiarity with Postgresql
• Experience deploying WSGI applications using gunicorn/uWSGI and NGINX
• Experience performing OAuth and SSO integrations
• Previously been a technical team lead or intend to become one
