What do we need?

We are looking for a candidate that will support proactive marketing communications strategies to advance the overall business growth of the firm and strengthen the firm’s brand message. This individual will contribute to the success of the Marketing Department in providing comprehensive communications, marketing, and business development support for the firm's attorneys and professional staff.

Candidates for this position must be based in DC, MD, or VA area or have plans for relocation. Our team offers flexibility with a hybrid in-office/ remote schedule but generally expects 2-3 days in the office based on firm needs.

How will you make an impact?

  • Supporting execution of communications and marketing plans focused on priorities outlined by department and firm leaders.
  • Assisting Director of Communications with managing the firm’s communications program, both external (PR/media relations) and internal communications.
  • Drafting press releases promoting firm and attorney rankings, awards, and other notable achievements.
  • Leading development, drafting and posting of content for firm’s social media accounts on LinkedIn and “X”/”Twitter”, including using Clearview Social platform for firm wide sharing and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Engaging with external PR agency, including: participating in weekly team calls; tracking media placements and coordinating follow up tasks; and reviews/edits press releases and rankings submissions drafted by the agency.
  • Supporting firm sponsorship and speaking engagement program in collaboration with member of Business Development team, including submission of headshots and bio blurbs to external event contacts, as well as posting event information to the firm website and social media accounts.
  • Supporting content creation and distribution of firm e-newsletters and client alerts, including managing process with contributing authors, laying content out in e-platform templates, verifies distribution list for related e-pushes, and sending internal message to related stakeholders.
  • Contributing to the development and maintenance of the content of the firm's existing website, including regular updates of firm pages and addition of links to/from site.
  • Assisting with the supervision of marketing department interns, including: training; assigning and overseeing projects; providing guidance; and reviewing website updates and other externally facing work product prior to it being posted/published.
  • Assisting in the management of the marketing budget to include payment of invoices, monthly reconciliation of the department’s credit card, and other related budgeting tasks.
  • Drafting “Standard Operating Procedures” (SOPs) for new department processes and protocols as they need to become institutionalized and added to the department’s shared document folder for team reference and use.

What will you bring to the role?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years in communications, marketing, and/or business development required. Professional services marketing experience, especially within the legal industry strongly preferred. Direct law firm experience with intellectual property and legal/litigation issues is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to write clearly for proposals, marketing materials, daily communications and presentations.
  • Multi-tasker who is able to work well as a member of a team.
  • Ability to independently manage and organize workload.
  • Superior customer service skills for engagement with attorneys and staff.

The good faith base salary range for this position is $70,000 to $85,000 per year. The actual salary rate offered to candidates within that range will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, years of relevant experience, education, and the candidate’s overall qualifications for the position as assessed by the Firm.
