Join a new Modernization/Revenue Cycle Team being built from the ground up, focusing on large-scale modernization initiatives and a transition to Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

We’re seeking two Senior Back End Developers to lead, mentor junior developers, and drive innovative backend solutions in a collaborative, Agile environment. Other agencies are already submitting candidates, so act quickly!

Job Posting: Senior Back End Developer (Remote)

Company: Confidential (Leading Healthcare Organization)

Location: Remote (Woonsocket, RI candidates may opt for hybrid/onsite)

Employment Type: Contract (6 months, potential to extend)

Start Date: ASAP

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and maintain backend microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
2. Build and integrate APIs (GraphQL and REST) for scalable service communication.
3. Deploy and manage services on Google Cloud Platform (GKE).
4. Work with Google Cloud Spanner (Postgres dialect) and pub/sub tools like Confluent Kafka or similar.
5. Automate CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Argo CD.
6. Mentor junior team members and contribute to planning and design in daily standups.

Required Qualifications:

1. 5+ years of backend development experience with Java and Spring Boot.
2. 2+ years working with APIs (GraphQL and REST) in microservices architectures.
3. 2+ years hands-on experience with GCP, AWS, or Azure.
4. 2+ years working with pub/sub tools like Kafka or similar.
5. 2+ years experience with databases (Postgres or similar).
6. 2+ years experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Argo CD).

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform, particularly GKE.
2. Familiarity with Kubernetes concepts and deploying services on GKE.
3. Strong understanding of microservices best practices and distributed systems.
4. Experience with migration from monolithic to microservices architectures or modernization projects.

Skills Breakdown:

1. 75% coding (hands-on development).
2. 25% planning and design (daily standups, solution design).

What We’re Looking For:

We seek proactive, adaptable senior developers who are hands-on, collaborative, and skilled at mentoring. You should be a complex thinker, able to solve diverse problems, propose solutions, and thrive in an Agile environment (currently 3-week sprints, moving to 2-week sprints).

Standout Resume Traits:

1. Hands-on expertise in Spring Boot and Java programming.
2. Strong cloud experience, preferably GCP (AWS acceptable if highly skilled).
3. Proven work on modernization projects or monolithic to microservices migrations.

Interview Process:

1. Round 1 (30 min): Resume-based technical discussion and culture fit with a team leader (no live coding).
2. Round 2: Technical panel with live coding (your choice of IDE), focusing on problem-solving, collaboration, and technical depth.
