Job Description:

LHH is working with a dynamic logistics company seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant for a 5-month contract assignment located in the Bay Area. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, be able to work independently, and have experience with remote work. After an initial training period, this position will be fully remote.

Responsibilities:

  • Key contributor to developing the financial close process, internal controls & reports.
  • Coordinating accounting functions and programs.
  • Preparing financial analyses and reports including flux analysis.
  • Respond to and support inbound departmental inquiries and ad-hoc analysis.
  • Prepare daily cash report.
  • Assisting with the 13 week rolling cash forecast.
  • Preparing revenue projections and forecasting expenditures.
  • Assisting with preparing and monitoring budgets.
  • Maintaining and reconciling balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
  • Assisting with annual audit preparations – 401k, Workers Comp.
  • Assisting with the annual financial review.
  • Assist in implementation such as Bill.com, Concur, Sage Intacct, etc.
  • Processing weekly wires and ACH’s.
  • Review and approve Positive Pay exceptions.
  • Assist Controller with financial analysis to interpret trends and variances from budget.
  • Investigating and resolving audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.
  • Contributing to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
  • Performing other accounting duties and supporting junior staff as required or assigned.
  • Perform administrative and other tasks as needed.

Qualification

  • B.S. Accounting/Finance preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience in accounting
  • Experience with Sage Intacct, Concur, and Bill.com are a plus
  • Knowledge of accounting rules, regulations, policies, and procedures that is reflective of the financial services industry.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP.
  • Proficient with Excel

Pay

  • $35-$45 an hour based on experience
