Job Title: SEM Coordinator

Location: Illinois or Remote

Job Summary:

We’re looking for a passionate and detail-oriented SEM Coordinator to join our growing Digital Marketing team! This role will help drive performance across platforms including Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Amazon, and Facebook. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience managing paid search campaigns and is ready to contribute to strategy, execution, and reporting across multiple brands and platforms.

This role will support the SEM Manager and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Merchandising, and IT to launch and optimize seasonal campaigns, product launches, and promotional events. We’re seeking a strategic thinker with a can-do attitude, strong analytical skills, and a passion for paid search and performance marketing.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Keyword Research: Identify and evaluate relevant keywords to drive high-performing search campaigns.
  2. Campaign Setup & Execution: Assist with building and launching campaigns across Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and Facebook Ads.
  3. Optimization: Adjust bids, ad copy, audiences, and campaign structure to improve ROI.
  4. Ad Copy Creation: Write compelling, on-brand ad copy that resonates with different customer segments.
  5. Performance Analysis: Monitor KPIs (impressions, CTR, conversions, CPA) and identify opportunities to improve performance.
  6. Reporting & Insights: Produce and present regular performance reports with actionable insights and recommendations.
  7. Search Query & Trend Analysis: Analyze queries and performance data to optimize targeting and messaging.
  8. A/B Testing: Develop and test variations of ads and landing pages to drive continuous improvement.
  9. Industry Awareness: Stay up to date on SEM trends, Google algorithm updates, and platform innovations.

Qualifications:

  1. 2+ years of hands-on experience in paid search campaign management.
  2. Experience managing monthly paid media budgets of $25K+.
  3. Proficiency with platforms such as Google Ads, Bing Ads, Google Analytics, and related tools.
  4. Strong analytical skills with experience working in Excel, Looker Studio, or similar.
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively share results and recommendations.
  6. Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  7. Sharp attention to detail and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
  8. Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  9. Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, or JavaScript is a plus, especially for SEO/technical implementation.

Bonus Points For:

  1. Experience with Amazon Ads or Facebook Ads.
  2. Working knowledge of data feed management or ecommerce platforms (e.g. Shopify, Magento, Google Merchant Center).
  3. Google Ads or Microsoft Ads certification(s).
