Job Description:

School Nurse Special Education Advisor

The mission of the School Nurse Special Education Advisor role is to build long-term relationships with BlazerWorks’ clients and providers while supporting and expanding our foothold in each. Simultaneously, the clinical manager will collaborate to increase business opportunities, educate, demonstrate clinical service offerings, and provide ongoing support to strengthen client relationships.

We are seeking a School Nurse Special Education Advisor who can, under general direction, provide supervision of School Nurse staff and assist with the daily operations of the special education department. The special education advisor shall be responsible for guiding providers in the areas of providing nursing services, assessments, treatment plans, and interventions in a school setting.

The special education advisor shall also be accountable for and contribute to program development, quality improvement, problem-solving, and productivity enhancement for providers and clients under his/her territory.

Essential Duties:

  • Ability to set priorities, multitask, and meet deadlines.
  • Able to travel and coordinate with clients and providers to set site visits.
  • Promote adherence to policies and practices of clients and applicable state guidance for the profession being represented.
  • Maintain current client relationships and identify areas for potential client expansion.
  • Contribute to client relations and sales activities conducted by the internal sales team to develop and improve the efficiency and productivity of the assigned territory.
  • Able to assist providers with all duties and responsibilities of clinical or teaching work in a school setting.
  • Able to conduct quality management and program evaluation to improve department and sales goals for assigned territory.
  • Responsible for delivering Continued Education both onsite and webinars.
  • Skill in motivating, leading, and developing staff.
  • Conduct University campus visits to establish a clinical relationship with programs such as Accredited Nursing Programs and National Association of School Nurses to identify potential providers as recruits.
  • Ability to use critical thinking skills to resolve issues. Directs the resolution of complaints made by providers and clients in collaboration with the sales teams.
  • Communicate and demonstrate a professional image/attitude for providers, students’ families, clients, coworkers, and others.

    Education and Experience

  • Nursing Degree from an accredited program in the field of expertise.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of previous work experience in a K-12 education setting.
  • Preferred experience working in Special Education.
  • Experience with the development and delivery of continuing education programs.
  • Ability to secure membership for the National Association of School Nurses.
  • Leadership position in schools is preferred.
