Job Description:

The Quality Engineer works closely with Engineering and Manufacturing in defining requirements necessary during product design and development which create protocols for production that result in high-quality Satellite Technology products; ensures compliance with standards, identify issues, recommend solutions, and create quality documentation. Requires high level of interdepartmental communication, in-depth data collection/ interpretation, and detail oriented follow up.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Update Quality Management System (QMS) with improvements and corrections
  • Audit our systems based upon ISO 9001:2015 requirements
  • Set detailed guidelines on processes and items to be checked
  • Monitor the entire production cycle and perform regular tests to identify potential malfunctions as early as possible
  • Determine quality metrics for all manufacturing processes
  • Set and track quality assurance goals (e.g. reduce average turnaround time for quality checks by 20%)
  • Identify the root of technical issues and recommend fixes
  • Prepare reports on malfunctions and corrective actions (e.g. number of defective raw materials per order)
  • Work with internal teams to increase customer satisfaction by improving the quality of the products
  • Inspect product materials and electrical systems for defects and durability
  • Review current blueprints and quality documentation
  • Ability to travel for supplier qualification and follow up audits (estimate < 10% travel)
  • Coordinate with external quality assurance auditors and technicians to ensure legal compliance
  • Ability to take lead on complicated projects as well as willing to tackle routine tasks.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, resolve problems, meet deadlines and handle fast paced critical work environment.
  • Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience Requirements

  • B.S. in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or other relevant technical field with 1+ plus years of experience as a Quality Engineer or 5+ years of experience with a A.A./A.S.
  • Previous work experience as a Quality Engineer or similar role
  • Hands-on experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS)
  • Knowledge of or experience with ISO 9001:2015 and the certification process
  • Additional certification in Quality Assurance is a plus

  • Ability to travel for supplier qualification and follow up audits (estimate < 10% travel)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $74,000.00 per year
