QEST Application Specialist

Essential Duties:

Application Specialist will be the central figure in internal and external support of our key business application suite of products. Primary focus being on the SpectraQEST product suite used in the Building and Construction business with support of additional applications being added as bandwidth permits.

Reporting directly to the Application Manager, this position will work closely with business users, 3rd party vendors and internal IT team to provide end user system support, analytical support, define requirements and functional specifications for changes or enhancements, perform system configuration, new user set up, implementation, roll-out activities and training for new features/functionality, systems testing, and create various types of support documentation.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Perform general system administration duties.
  • Provide training to internal users of our applications.
  • Manage all process-related items to ensure deliverables are timely, accurate and meeting customer expectations.
  • Work with customers and management from key functional areas in refining systems and processes to keep pace with corporate objectives.
  • Contribute to the testing of enhancements and resolution of system reported issues.
  • Develop and participate in QA and UAT process.
  • Work with users and engineering team to identify and prioritize opportunities for system enhancement.
  • Work with other internal teams as well as third parties to enable and support integration efforts.
  • Coordinate communication to end users and develop super user support network.
  • Work with Applications Manager and B&C Management to develop application roadmap.

Specific duties include, but not limited to:

  • Set up users with access.
  • Provide one-on-one or group training to internal users of our applications.
  • Create custom laboratory and field reports as needed.
  • Create custom data entry workflows as needed.
  • Troubleshoot end user issues.
  • Participate in QEST Committee meetings to review and prioritize business requests.
  • Coordinate changes/enhancements with the vendor - Spectra QEST through their support portal and customer service specialist.
  • Perform QA testing of changes as needed.
  • Create Test Scripts and coordinate UAT and sign off with the business for key enhancements/upgrades/new features.
  • Work with Special Project staff to discuss new needs or client requests.
  • Work with business and B&C Application Manager to develop product road map.
  • Work with other internal teams as well as third parties to enable and support integration efforts.

Skills Profile:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Highly organized, self-starter with strong ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Strong customer service focus
  • Must be flexible and adapt to changing environment
  • Ability to work successfully across organizational lines and influence outcomes
  • Good understanding of software development and testing methodologies, a plus
