Optomi, in partnership with a global leader in providing highly customized, mission-critical technology solutions to the hospitality and travel industry, is seeking a Python Developer to join their team. As our platform grows to support more payment partners and transaction capabilities, our team is expanding. We’re seeking skilled Python Developers to help us build and scale new microservices and APIs that power critical payment workflows.

Responsibilities:

1. Design, develop, and maintain Python-based microservices to support transaction processing, rules application, funding, currency conversion, and payment execution.
2. Build and optimize APIs that integrate with internal systems and external banking interfaces.
3. Contribute to the development of Python libraries used to communicate with banks (ISO 20022 standards and other custom formats such as text or CSV).
4. Work within an orchestrated workflow system to handle high-volume payment transactions reliably and efficiently.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including other developers, architects, and product managers, to deliver high-quality solutions.
6. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in production and staging environments.

Experience

1. 3-6 years of professional software development experience with Python.
2. Strong background in designing, developing, and consuming APIs.
3. Hands-on experience building and deploying microservices in production environments.
4. Familiarity with the AWS ecosystem (Lambda, S3, RDS, Step Functions, etc.).
5. Exposure to payment systems, ISO 20022, or financial data formats.
6. Strong problem-solving abilities, collaborative mindset, and excellent communication skills.
