Job Description:

The MV3 Foundation (MV3) is a national, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that guides, inspires, and invests in the academic, personal, and professional development of Black undergraduate scholars across the US pursuing health science careers.

 

The MV3 Program Director is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Scholars Program, in addition to executing Foundation-wide communication and supporting key decision-making processes over the course of the year. This individual will work closely with the MV3 Advisory Board, Chief Executive Officer, and Chief Operating Officer.

 

The MV3 Foundation is a growing national organization that has garnered a great deal of momentum over the last three years. This position will be the first full-time role and will serve as a key leader in the growth and advancement of the Foundation. At MV3, we pride ourselves on our ability to rapidly evolve based on the needs of our scholars and volunteer community. As such, we are actively seeking individuals who are excited to propose original ideas, support other members of the team, and explore opportunities for programmatic growth and development.

 

This is a full-time, remote role that begins March 2024. The first-year salary is fixed at $70,000 and will increase annually based on performance and organizational budget. Benefits include healthcare and funding for work equipment. No specific degree is required. Program Director Responsibilities

 

MV3 Scholars Program

  • Work with the MV3 Executive team to create a communication plan related to the MV3 Scholars Program and associated events.
  • Lead the Foundation’s volunteer recruitment and virtual onboarding processes.
  • Support the Director of Admissions with key processes including program advertising, and evaluation and selection of MV3 Scholars
  • Build the yearly engagement calendar for the MV3 Scholars Program.
  • Streamline the delivery of program resources throughout the year, actively troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Work with leadership team to monitor scholar engagement and implement necessary quality control measures.
  • Support program committees with planning and executing virtual webinars, learning opportunities and networking events for scholars.

 

Curriculum Development

  • Review program data on a regular basis to understand opportunities for program growth/improvement.
  • Serve as a strategic partner and maintain frequent communication with the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer to report status updates and progress on MV3 Scholars Program.

 

Community Building

  • Advance a positive work atmosphere that emphasizes teamwork, innovation, candor, curiosity, trust, and respect, in alignment with the Foundation’s values.
  • Develop and maintain relationships, communicate, and participate in meetings with various public and private institutions and other partners related to The MV3 Scholars Program.
  • Initiate, lead, organize, and participate in community and corporate outreach and engagement activities.
  • Enjoy working closely with key national leaders in medicine, dentistry, and biomedical science, in addition to MV3 Scholars, mentors, donors and board members to enhance the MV3 Scholars Program and elevate the Foundation’s work.
  • Lead and organize the biannual community celebration, working alongside MV3’s Marketing & Media Team to design and execute the event.
  • Build and manage a plan for alumni and mentor engagement.
  • Partner with the Chief Executive Officer to identify funding opportunities for the MV3 Scholars Program, including program and event corporate sponsors, donors and alumni engagement.

 

Qualifications and Experience

 

As an early stage organization, we are seeking a passionate and highly organized individual to work with the MV3 team to catalyze the organization’s next phase of growth.

 

  • Boston-area residence desirable, but not required.
  • At least a year of program development, event management and/or project management experience.
  • Ability to learn and manage database systems and online platforms.
  • High degree of organization; ability to efficiently manage multiple ongoing projects.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and empathetic communication skills.
  • Focused attention to detail, execution of tasks, and accountability.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and collaborate across internal and external stakeholders.
  • High level of motivation and eagerness to contribute to a team environment.
  • Enthusiasm towards the MV3 Foundation mission to invest in the next generation of Black leaders in healthcare and biomedical science fields.

 

Compensation and Work Schedule

 

  • Full-time (est. 40 hours per week), with a minimum one-year commitment
  • Compensation: $70,000 (non-negotiable) - salary will increase annually based on performance and organizational budget.
  • Other Benefits: Healthcare; Work Equipment Coverage (up to $1000)
  • Remote work, with the exception of in-person retreats or conference travel (2-4 times per year)
  • The MV3 Foundation will cover travel and lodging expenses for work-related events/activities. Locations will vary.
  • Work schedules are flexible, though we expect the Program Director to be open to working in the late afternoon-evenings (3-9pm EST) on select days Monday to Friday, as this is when most of the team meetings and webinars across the Foundation take place to accommodate students’ schedules.

Start period: March 1– 31, 2024 (flexible)
