Production Planner Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Production Planner to join our operations team. The Production Planner will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between the production schedule and the sales team, ensuring timely and efficient production while meeting customer demands. This position requires a strong ability to manage schedules, coordinate with various departments, and maintain production equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with the sales team to understand customer demands, sales forecasts, and order requirements.
- Develop and maintain an accurate production schedule, taking into account available resources, production capacity, tolling and customer priorities.
- Coordinate with procurement, inventory, and warehouse teams to ensure the availability of raw materials and components needed for production.
- Monitor production progress, identify potential bottlenecks, and take proactive measures to address any delays or issues that may arise.
- Conduct regular meetings with production staff to communicate the production schedule, provide updates, and address any concerns or questions.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure regular equipment inspections, maintenance, and repairs are carried out to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
- Collaborate with the inoculation team, ensuring proper species are inoculated based on grow times and production process times.
- Analyze production data and metrics to identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and increased efficiency.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technology advancements, and regulatory requirements related to production planning and equipment maintenance.
- Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in operations management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field experience (preferred).
- Proven experience as a Production Planner or in a similar role within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong understanding of production planning principles, techniques, and best practices.
- Proficient in using , ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Knowledge of production equipment, maintenance processes, and quality control standards.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to food production (preferred).
- Ability to coordinate with multiple contract manufactures throughout the product cycle.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance in the processing of the product, to ensure a timely positive release.
Work Schedule
- Regular Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (or to be determined by the Plant Manager)
- Schedule may change on production needs.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,589.00 - $72,820.00 per year
