SALARY: $65,000 to $75,000

 

 

Network Systems Administrator is responsible for overseeing the organization’s computer systems or networks to ensure proper maintenance and security. Their duties include working with other IT staff and company employees to identify network, server, phone, data-center infrastructure across all locations, or computer system needs, overseeing the installation of new hardware or software and using employee feedback to isolate issues.

 

 

This is not a remote work setting, this is an on-site position.

This person will be responsible for...

  • Maintaining computer networks and systems including software, data center, VPNs, routers, and other physical hardware.
  • Installing and configuring network equipment to update or fix hardware/software issues.
  • Updating virus protection software to keep data and communications protected.
  • Monitoring computer systems to improve network performance for computer systems and networks.
  • Communicating networking issues to other employees and management.
  • Fixing software and hardware configuration issues for users on-demand or from inspection of the systems.
  • Network and endpoint monitoring, for high availability of IT infrastructure and data.
  • Coordinates urgent and complicated support issues. Acts as an initial go-to point for Infrastructure and network teams.
  • Works with the team to determine root cause of issues and communicates appropriately to internal and external customers.
  • Maintain inventory of network hardware and switches in the datacenter and other locations.
  • Monitor, Troubleshoot and maintain infrastructure configurations.
  • Develop specifications, standards, and documentation for the infrastructure.
  • Works with vendors for issue escalation.
  • Participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure.
  • Analyze department needs, identify vulnerabilities, and boost productivity and efficiency by using data provided by the service desk.
  • Continuously analyze current process, technologies, and vendors to identify areas of improvement.
  • Follow ISO/TL9000 requirements as it pertains to this position.

  • 5+ years of intimate experience working on Networking, Server, Storage, or equivalent platforms.
  • Operational experience with networking and security.
  • Stellar communication skills.
  • Industry certifications a plus.

 

 

Work Environment

This job operates in both in a professional office and in a warehouse environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, printers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

 

 

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Normal business days are Monday through Friday, work hours will be assigned in advance.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use both hands and wrists to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to regularly stand; walk; and bend/stoop, stretch, kneel, crouch, crawl, and maneuver around pallets. Must be able to stand/walk for up to 8-10 hours.

 

 

The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must be able to lift, and/or move objects at least 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to climb a ladder or get on a scissor lift without limitation; may be lifted to 30-foot-high ceilings.
